Carl S. Kirkconnell

Chief Technology Officer

Carl Kirkconnell is the Chief Technology Officer of Iris Technology Corporation. Carl has over 20 years of experience in practical engineering, business development and management. Recognized internationally as an expert in spacecraft thermal control systems, Carl also has expertise in space hardware, Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) applications and cryogenics. He has been awarded ten U.S. patents and has four pending.

Carl has lectured extensively at the University of California, Irvine and the University of Southern California and has authored over 50 published articles in the areas of thermal sciences and cryogenic engineering.

Hailing from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Carl holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and is a past President of the International Cryocooler Conference Board. Carl is passionate about soccer and coaches in his community children’s league.
